Chris Hund

Chris was born and raised on a farm in rural Kansas. His mother is an artist from New York while his father is a cowboy from Kansas. He lived in Rhode Island for a number of years, studying photography at Rhode Island School of Design. Soon after, Chris worked at Wax Poetics magazine and Fania Records. In 2010, he moved to New York and created his own record label, Paxico. Exploring modern folklore and probing “the details within simplicity” are the focal points of his art. He also creates pixel art and designs software.
Your idea of happiness?
Laughing so much I get a six-pack.
Your idea of misery?
The absence of creativity.
If not yourself, who would you be?
A farmer in the Flint Hills of Kansas.

My family and other authentics.
What is your present state of mind?
Expanding.

What do you do if you can’t sleep at night?
Pixel art and Netflix docs.
Do you collect anything?
Always been a collector. Much of my work also revolves around archives. I was on a path to be an archivist for awhile. Currently collecting: folk art, cassettes, quilts and milk crates.
What is the strangest thing you believed in as a child?
My mattress was spider-proof, I still believe.

Depends but hex #CCBF86 is golden.

Paxico, Kansas.

Vietnam.
