Fafi
Street Artist, Paris
Fafi is a street art artist who has spent the past decade painting on walls across the world. She has created a comic strip from scratch and exhibited at Art Basel and SXSW. Fafi wasn’t satisfied with just spreading her art on concrete or paper, so she found a new creative playground in music. Her artwork was in music videos for Lily Allen, Katy Perry, Azaelia Banks and M.I.A. You can catch her characters, the Fafinettes, in the graphic novel, The Carmine Vault.
Your idea of happiness?
It’s summer we are in a open house in the countryside, we cook and laugh, drink wine and the kids play around.

What is your present state of mind?
Nice attack happened yesterday, I wish journalists would start by not giving those guys identity because seeing their names on the news in block letters is mainly what they want.
Bedside table books?
I always read a book until the end even though it’s bad
What do you do if you can’t sleep at night?
I go check if my son is sleeping well, tuck him in and come back to my bed thinking I can sleep now.

Coffee, with milk foam, trying to put less sugar in it

What is the best dish you can cook?
I do really good Banh mi’s, I opened a restaurant of those.
What is your middle name?
I don’t have one but I wish I had a very sexy one, like a greek goddess
What do you do in your free time?
I don’t have any and I always have, I always try to learn something or to feel something that make me understand better
What inspire you?
I am inspired by the idea of being a powerful positive force, I want to translate anything that talks about that into art
What do you do for money?
I sell my art and I am lucky I didn’t need too much to do too many corny projects.
What do you do for pleasure?
I take my moped, I ride while closing my eyes

Do you collect?
I only collect for my archives. I don’t like the idea to be attached to anything material, I really don’t care. I think people who are crazy about sneakers for example have a problem.
What is the strangest thing you believed as a child?
I thought my father was a spy because he was working at night for the local newspaper.
I thought when I had a tinnitus it was a sign extra-terrestrials were sending me to tell me they were coming to pick me up.

What are your plans for this weekend?
I don’t have my son, everything is possible. I like to be around crazy people and burn my wings.
