Currently residing in Texas, Katie is a photographer as well as a children’s art teacher. She attended school in Oakland and couldn’t decide what to do after graduation, so she worked and lived on a horse ranch. Katie also studied for two summers in Mexico and fell in love with the culture. Her snapshots of Houston reveal an instinctive feel for capturing everyday moments bathed in natural light.
Your idea of happiness?
Traveling anywhere with my boyfriend, where we do not have to work and we have all our money saved up and can just be with each other.
Your idea of misery?
Stuck on a very long car ride with people I do not like.
If not yourself, who would you be?
I would like to be someone very analytical, I don't think I'm analytical at all.
Your heroes?
Michelangelo Antonioni and Joan Miró.
What is your present state of mind?
I am relaxed right now and happy.
Bedside table books?
The Conquest of New Spain by Bernal Díaz del Castillo and a book about the painter Joan Miró.
What do you do if you can’t sleep at night?
Move to the couch for a bit and read there.
Do you collect anything?
I collect cameras, friends and memories.
What is the strangest thing you believed in as a child?
I did believe in bad things under the bed.

Blue!
Favorite city?
I know this is cliché, but I don't care: Paris.
What are your plans for this weekend?
It’s very cold in my city, so I'm hoping to stay home with the heaters on, watch movies, do crafts and scan some film. At night I will go out for a drink somewhere, but not stay very late. I will also go shopping, I love wandering around the mall by myself.

Right-handed.
What is the best dish you can cook?
Spaghetti carbonara, this was the last thing I made.

Rose.
What do you do in your free time?
I really, really love lounging, reading, re-organizing and cleaning my house.

Espresso with chocolate.
Favorite fictional character?
Harriet the Spy.
